Legacy Lifecycle Data Management

The PLM for Six Sigma Product Quality (PLM4SS) project created in Teamcenter PLM the data structure and functionality to automatically extract all engineering requirements from NX design files and configuration manage the results using the Teamcenter PLM system. The result is a complete and unambiguous compilation of engineering requirements usable by all downstream operations such as manufacturing and quality process planning. However, defense products typically have very long lifecycles so all defense OEMs and DoD must support parts for which the tech data predates the use of modern 3D CAD systems and so for those legacy parts it is not possible to use PLM4SS technology to tabulate requirements.

The Legacy Lifecycle Data Management project will develop and validate technology that can in interactive mode identify requirements from raster images of 2D part drawings, thereby delivering the huge benefits of PLM4SS to the legacy part world.
