Enhanced Wiring Integrity Systems (EWIS)

Project findings are presented from the Enhanced Wiring Integrity System (EWIS) Project. The wiring system is the infrastructure that links electrical, electromechanical and electronics subsystems. Wiring is truly a critical system that requires new maintenance tools and processes.

Project objectives were to implement a single or common test system to provide solutions that: Are applicable to the joint services - Navy, Air Force, Army, and Marines; Reduce the work-hours expended troubleshooting and repairing materiel electrical wiring systems; Increase the reliability of materiel with preventive and predictive maintenance.

The EWIS project provides improved commercially-available test systems to enhance the troubleshooting and testing capabilities of the maintainers and ultimately improving the overall integrity of electrical wiring systems. The user-friendly product is in use at multiple DoD sites.
